Bogotrax action: Ciudad Bolívar
February 15, 2010 on 6:39 pm | In News | 2 Comments
Yesterday all the Bogotrax people went to the poorest neighborhood in Bogota: Ciudad Bolívar. It’s located far south in the mountains and gives home to around 3 million (!!!) people. Every year the festival of Bogotrax brings some music, workshops and activities to the locals, whose daily life is struggle for survival. It was a day event, because after 10 PM you can get shot by the local armed gangs on the nearest sidewalk.

We played some positive tunes – dancehall and tropical bass.
Local hip-hop crews were highly appreciated, because were rapping about the hard daily life of the neighborhood: poorness, fear, violence and inequality.
