Zvērs Goes Ragga

Riga Goes Ragga event is going outdoors! This weekend Crystral Sound System is packing the speakers, tent, all the reggae – friends and the biggest and freshest tunes in a van and going to ZvÄ“rā Festival near Saldus. Don’t you miss that, because the collection of artists here will give you the true essence of Jamaican inspired music – from dub-ish downtempo till roots reggae, dancehall, dubstep and ragga-jungle. The most important acts will be UK’s Jamie Irie reggae-set on the first day, followed by our Lithuanian friends – reggae classics by E-Roott and raggajungle floorfillers by Cr-edit. Dr_Ups from London will bring us the real bashment feeling again. Of course, we don’t forget the local forces; full lineup here:

Laba Daba

After some years of silence, the festival of positive music “Laba Daba” is back again! Reggae, dancehall, etno, world, jazz – and great atmosphere, this year with more participants on 4 festival stages. Programme – here. Crystral Sound plays on Friday, August 6 from 21.00 on DJ stage. Flower carpet guinness world record

This Saturday in the lovely seaside city Ventspils they will try to challenge the guinness world record and create the world’s largest flower carpet. This is going to be a massive event with activities and workshops, main stage with well-known bands and afterparty in RenÄ·a dārzs. Crystral Sound spinning the most summer-ish tunes from midnight till 01.30.

Baltic Beach Party

This year Latvia’s largest beach event Baltic Beach Party lasts 3 days: from July 22-24.  On Thursday night we promote our reggae/dancehall radio show STEREO SALA and blaze the faya on radio SWH stage. If you are there, come and enjoy the vibes.

Fonofest 2010

First of this summer’s big festivals coming up this weekend – Fonofest 2010 in Uplandi, near Cesis. We are playing in the DJ tent Friday from 04.00 till the last one dropping. Others spinning in the DJ tent: Toms GrÄ“viņš, AI-VA, Artis Dvarionas, Indrikkis and Chabucca. Not only bands and sports competitions, also quality dance music two nights, 80 km from Riga.

Užavas Kaituss

Wow, summer is really here! So this weekend we are going to chill in wild waters of Baltic sea and try some SUP boarding, skim boarding and in the case of wind also wakeboarding or windsurfing in event called Užavas Kaituss.

But what is the main thing – we will set up our sound system and play wicked watersports afterparty in country house “Garvasari” 6 km from the beach: fireplace, grill, beach-bar, dancefloor etc.

We are also expecting to hear some tunes from our new born deejay Oldschool Ilze, expert in all kind of board sports, selecting bouncy Latvian sound of 1950′s – 1970′s.  And also concrete jungle rasta, selector Bassline Chris, ir preparing something for you. Sooooo, here is the map:

Positivus 2010

The artists list  of Red Bull Music Academy stage in 2010 Positivus Festival is out and published! And the lineup is MAD! We play their tunes in our sets weekly, and now we are playing together with them. See you on the second day of the festival, warming up the dancefloor with our special tropical-bass selections.

Muse, Scissor Sisters and UNKLE are the headliners of this year’s Positivus fest in Latvia, one of the most popular musical gatherings in the Baltic area. The Red Bull Music Academy will host its own stage on both days, with former participants Madis Nestor and DJ Quest manning the decks alongside international guests such as Benji B and the South Rakkaz Crew, plus a special PA by future soul’s golden girl Muhsinah.
