Hereby you can see information about the projects realized or being held under the non-governmental organization “Crystral”. The projects are mainly supported and granted by European Union funds and are generally aimed at supporting musical initiatives of our organization members and young people from Latvia and other European countries, promoting creative ideas, giving platform for realizing different talents in music, arts, video, sports, theatre and other fields.
TEAM-WISE (RIGA, NOVEMBER 2010 – APRIL 2011) (BLOG)
EVS project â€œTeam-wiseâ€ is dedicated to hosting two volunteers for six months in our new youth free time, culture and sports center in Riga. The volunteers are: Vincenzo from Benevento, Italy and Marko from Belgrade, Serbia. With hosting the volunteers we are expanding our working team with young people from other countries with different experience and new ideas, as well as having two more people’s time and energy to do practical things in the Centre, both everyday activities and centre development process. The volunteers are taking part in team meetings and idea creation, promotional work of the Centre: contacts with media and partners, organizing of weekly and monthly activities, setting up equipment, assisting on organizing, cleaning of the Centre and helping the team to build and set up new constructions / activity places, going with the organization members to the activities and actions organized outside the Centre and helping with setting up, organization and promotion. Taking photos and videos of the events and activities, helping to maintain Centre website. The youth centre is mainly dedicated to sports, music and arts activities, and there are plenty of free time and space for the volunteers here to develop new programs, actions, workshops, lectures, seminars, music performances, etc.
PASSPORT:MUSIC (LIEPAJA, SEPTEMBER 2009) (WEB)
â€žPassport:Musicâ€ was an intercultural and creative youth exchange project about different cultures belonging to Europe and unity in Europe by expressing it in music. 36 young people from 7 European countries (Italy, Denmark, Latvia, Lithuania, Great Britain, Netherlands and Germany) came together in Latvia for 10 days (10.09.09.-20.09.09.) to discuss belonging to Europe, learn cultural differences and share knowledge and exchange experience in music production, DJ-ing, creative activism in Europe and create message of European unity â€“ unique music producer and DJ live performance involving every participant of the project and bringing the message to wider audience by public presentation event and afterwards sharing it to everyone by audio record.
“TÄlu Skan” (Sounds Far) is a local level Youth initiative project. During the project 10 different young people from our organization searchedÂ in socially uncongenial districts of Riga for musically talented young people of different nationalities (Latvian, Russian, other), who have social problems, lack of motivation, resources or knowledge to realize their talent. Those people need support and experience shared by other young people like them, what will be the function of project group. During the project 3 songs were recorded, music videos were shot, and a public presentation event organized to launch the material on radio and TV channels that resulted in bringing the message to wide audience.
